Here are four of the neighborhood’s most popular brunch destinations, ranging from fluffy American pancakes to British classics and healthy breakfast bowls.
Pom & Flora
There are cafés you visit once, and there are cafés you return to every weekend. Pom & Flora belongs to the latter category.
Since opening in 2013, Pom & Flora has grown into one of Stockholm’s most beloved breakfast and brunch concepts, and it’s easy to see why. The location on Odengatan features high ceilings, large street-facing windows, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. It’s one of those rare places that works equally well for a quiet solo visit with a book as it does for a Saturday brunch with friends.
The menu is simple but thoughtfully curated. Expect yogurt bowls with homemade granola, porridge, açaí bowls, and sandwiches featuring carefully balanced flavor combinations. Nothing is flashy, but everything is exceptionally well prepared.
Our recommendation is the toast topped with soft scrambled eggs, crème fraîche, pickled carrots, and za’atar. It’s the dish people talk about when they talk about Pom & Flora, and for good reason. It’s one of the best breakfasts you can eat in Stockholm.
A tip: arrive early. Ideally before 9:30 AM on Saturdays if you want a table right away. From 10 AM onwards, the café tends to fill up quickly, and waiting times become common. That’s really the only downside, which says a lot about the quality of the place.
Many people who rent an apartment in Vasastan mention the proximity to cafés like this as one of the main reasons they enjoy living in the neighborhood. It’s quality of life in its simplest form.

STHLM Brunch Club
If Pom & Flora is the calm and understated option, STHLM Brunch Club is the complete opposite. It’s colorful, lively, and unmistakably American-inspired. That’s exactly what makes it so much fun.
Since 2015, STHLM Brunch Club on Dalagatan has become one of Stockholm’s most talked-about brunch destinations. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the entire experience.
The menu is broad and playful, featuring pancakes, bagels, burgers, avocado toast, and their famous Freakshakes. It’s the kind of menu where you struggle to decide and end up wanting to order three different dishes.
Our clear recommendation is the American pancakes served with blueberry compote, lemon cream cheese frosting, and lemon curd. It’s their signature dish, and it delivers every single time. Fluffy, generous, and perfectly sweet. If you order only one thing, make it this.
One thing to be prepared for is the queue. It’s a place that rarely has immediate seating on weekends. Fortunately, the restaurant uses a digital waitlist system, making the process smoother. Our advice is to arrive right when they open or visit on a weekday if you live or work nearby.
Vasastan attracts an increasing number of expats and international visitors who move to Stockholm for shorter or longer stays. For many of them, STHLM Brunch Club quickly becomes a favorite thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and universally appealing menu.

Greasy Spoon
The third spot on the list is for anyone who should experience a proper British breakfast at least once and understand why the British insist it’s the best breakfast in the world.
Greasy Spoon was founded by two Britons who missed a proper English breakfast in Stockholm. Since then, it has grown into one of the city’s most popular brunch concepts, with several locations, including Hagagatan 4 near Odenplan in Vasastan.
The menu centers around British cuisine with a modern twist. You’ll find Eggs Benedict, bacon, beans on toast, fried chicken, smashed avocado, and of course the Full English Breakfast. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and everything is prepared from scratch.
Our favorite and strongest recommendation is the Bacon & Maple Syrup Pancakes. Three thick pancakes served with crispy bacon and a generous amount of maple syrup. The combination of sweet and savory is what makes the dish so memorable, and it’s easy to understand why it remains one of the restaurant’s best sellers. If you arrive hungry and want to leave completely satisfied, this is the dish to order.
The Hagagatan location is spacious and bright, with booth seating along the walls, making it an excellent choice for larger groups. It’s an unusually comfortable brunch venue for those wanting to gather with friends without feeling cramped.

Humble & Frank
Located on Karlbergsvägen, just a few blocks from St. Eriksplan, you’ll find a place that feels unlike anything else in Vasastan.
Humble & Frank is simultaneously a café, bistro, and design studio. The space features exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and an industrial aesthetic that feels more like a Brooklyn loft than a traditional Stockholm café. Thoughtfully designed and effortlessly stylish, it has a personality that many brunch spots lack.
What truly sets Humble & Frank apart is the ability to reserve a table. Most brunch restaurants in Vasastan operate on a first-come, first-served basis, often resulting in lengthy weekend queues. Here, you simply send an email and have a table waiting for you, making it an excellent option for groups or anyone who prefers not to spend Saturday morning standing outside.
The kitchen serves brunch all day, every day of the week. The à la carte menu focuses on fresh ingredients and well-balanced dishes, including omelets, sandwiches, salads, and seasonal Swedish produce. The beverage menu is broader than average, featuring wine, beer, and well-crafted cocktails, making the venue equally suitable for a leisurely Sunday brunch or a relaxed Friday afternoon.
Our recommendation is the shakshuka. It’s a dish that can easily become bland when poorly executed, but here it’s rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. It’s served with bread that genuinely holds up for dipping. One of the better versions we’ve tried in Vasastan.
Humble & Frank is ideal for anyone who has grown tired of the obvious brunch choices and wants somewhere with a bit more character.

Many people who initially move here for a short-term assignment end up extending their stay multiple times.
